IN JESUS NAME - PART 2

IN JESUS NAME
[Phl 2:5-11 KJV] 5  Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: 7 But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: 8 And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. 9 Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: 10 That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of [things] in heaven, and [things] in earth, and [things] under the earth; 11 And [that] every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ [is] Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake  Psalm 23:3b

For his name's sake essentially means, "to the glory of God the Father".  God is glorified in His name, Jehovah, and in the name of Jesus.
The righteousness of God is imparted to us by faith in Jesus.  We take on the mind of Jesus through the Spirit.  The mind guides our actions, so that we follow the path of what we think.  Jesus, therefore, is THE WAY THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, all to the glory of God the Father.  The way is the paths of righteousness that God leads us on using His Son, Jesus, to be our guide.  God sent His son to show us the way and be our Shepherd.  Follow Jesus.  Jesus said, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily and follow me.  Where is Jesus going?  On the paths of righteousness, to the glory of God the Father.

We go astray when we get off the paths of righteousness and go our own way, essentially, for our own name's sake.  God is telling us, follow Jesus, He will lead us down the right paths, to the glory of God.
